Twittering - short blog to reach many folks

Couple of days back I visited twitter and honestly at first I didn't know what was going on. I felt completely lost and scared. The way technology hits you with new inventions and portals every day, I think I am growing old -- (just kidding, I would remain forever young :) )

OK, so I registered on twitter as DomainRegistrar, I was surprised that this name was not already taken .. yahoooooooooo!!! it's so rare to get a name of your choice these days, thanks to growing population (of net users - lest you derive other meaning from my humble statement... hehehe)
After a brief delay that is usual for my grey cells to get used to something - I admit I have got hooked to this small little 140 character space.

Twitter is a social network platform with a twist. You can post your comments using twitter.com, using your hand held device or from other websites that have linked to twitter. What's more twitter comments are available as a rss feed (something you can check for yourself on this page right below xobni button) Not only that, you may as well use IM to post to twitter !!! You may wonder what is the big deal about this, since this feature is available at other places as well - right, what makes tweeting so exciting is that you just get 140 characters to post (why - so that you could receive it on your mobile / cell phone as a SMS) and that is what makes this so wonderful. For a change you don't have unlimited space to blah blah... but a rather small limited 140 character window to type in whatever you have to say. Type what you have to say, press update and your entire network gets your update using whatever mode they are using (ie web, IM, handheld or other sites and of course the rss feed)

Now don't you like the whole concept ?

More advantages of twitter -
a. I found a rise in traffic to my website by 30% after twitter came in picture (or in other words, after I started twittering)
b. One stop solution to tell the world what you are upto, no need to send separate notes to all who care - just ask them to check your status on twitter, that is it.
c. Great place to make friends - and increase your social network (in limited words)
d. Feeling bored, got nothing to do, please read what others are twittering about, chances are you may get something of your interest.
e. Follow and Be Followed :) (In case no one resting in grave has a patent or copy write on this - I proclaim this quote to be 100% original as I write this post, please take my permission if you would wish to use this in your books, blogs and speech)
f. I think I have said enough about it .. why don't you just go ahead and check it for yourself?
