Don't get Dooced ? (rhymes with "juice")

Oh boy, thank god i have not been Dooced, at least not yet... In case you wonder what is Dooced you may like to visit the site first - dooced.com and then read about Heather Armstrong who was was fired from her job as a web designer and graphic artist because she had written satirical accounts of her experiences at a dot-com startup on her weblog. Because she was unable to quickly spell "dude" during IM chats with her former co-workers, she coined the word dooce - and blogs with this pseudonym Dooce.

Dooce.com's latest posts are aroung Armstrong's daily life, and particularly about her family--her 20-month-old daughter Leta, and her husband Jon Armstrong. Her previous Avatar was as Web designer in Los Angeles, she is now more popular for her writing style and her reputation among her fans and readers is of frank and straightforward words from her, regardless of the topic.

She has warned her fellow bloggers with following statement

I started this website in February 2001. A year later I was fired from my job for this website because I had written stories that included people in my workplace. My advice to you is BE YE NOT SO STUPID.

In case you wonder if Heather is the only person Dooced so far, another person is fighting out the battle with former employers for being Dooced, despite being anonymous in her posts.

Unmarried mother Catherine Sanderson -- "La Petite Anglaise" to 3,000 regular readers of her Internet diary -- launched legal action in France, claiming unfair dismissal against accountancy firm Dixon Wilson in 2006.

So what is the moral of story for bloggers and others who have their own web sites and internet identity on social network platforms and other media? I echo identical sentiment as Heather -- BE YE NOT SO STUPID!!!
