Ringo is Closed Forever

Just revisited Ringo to see what all has gone, and in case you did not follow the news, or have been away from the net for a while, this is sad news. Everything is gone now ...

Home page is giving you choice to use other services like flickr etc for sharing online content and also links to myspace or facebook if you prefer social networking sites -- your choice.

Overall I didn't use the services much but I know others who were heavily using Ringo. While it's the masses that make Web2.0 sites a success by participation, isn't it sad that company has the final word to close or continue the services. It's a synergistic association between users and providers. Providers invest a lot to provide a platform for users, while users promote the services and platform by word of mouth, sending invites to friends and thus creating a user base which in turn generates revenue for the portal via advertisements. Should we users have a voting right or minor stake?
