No Finger Ponting Please, Character and Winning don't go hand in hand.

Australian Captain Ricky Ponting is hurt by the accusations hurled upon him by the media and Indian Fans. He played the game with the right spirit, they like to play hard and they DON'T THINK they did ANYTHING wrong in the effort to win the game.

I couldn't agree less. In a country where the cricketers are paid professionals paid to WIN and not to lose nicely, these poor chaps have no place for sportsmanship. They get payed to play and win - no other result is acceptable by the country - even if that means that captain grounds a catch and appeals to umpires (that is not CHEATING, he is just being honest that he caught the ball and it is a different matter that he didn't see that he also let it touch the ground). Of course a team is as good as its leader so no wonder Clark did nothing wrong. He is just following example of sportsmanship set by his leader Ponting - and he is proud to win 16 consecutive matches. It is a different matter that these men have no value for the so called spirit of the game. They are after all the world champs.

Sad that I wouldn't like to imbibe any quality from these world champs. Man of the match Andrew Symonds was out caught behind, and stood his ground - so much for integrity.
Ricky Ponting - Out caught behind - (he apparently had a pact with Anil Kumble to be honest about such instances) stood despite tickling the ball - and he talks about integrity.
Hypocrisy at its best.

These are the proud cricketers from a nation with disgraceful past, and they are going up many levels to maintain their poor standards. Underarm bowling was introduced by Chappels - when they were staring at possible defeat from New Zealand team. Ah all is fair in cricket, more so if you are an Australian backed with some sub-standard umpires living off charity doled out by ICC. Match Referee who disgraced the whole concept of justice.

It is the same nation that claimed an Indian Doctor (Haneef) to be a terrorist (and later Australia losing the case in court Thank God, someone does have the sense of justice) . Ponting is just following the suit, and he is hurt, poor man. He doesn't have time to watch replays when he appeals, and when he knows that he is out, he doesn't like to walk back to pavilion. He loves getting bowled or caught of Bhajji .. so why to remove the tag of being his bunny and get out to someone else. How dare anyone else get his wicket.

All I can add is ... they may have won the game at Sydney, they may even win the series, but Australia has lost its character (if it ever had any...)

Please no finger Ponting please enough time has been wasted on moral values - which don't exist in the country called Australia.
